Ive just found out that a vindictive teacher in my daughter's school has started a horrible rumor about me/my family. This woman HATES me...and I think intended on just starting a little gossip...but it ended up getting back to me.
I usually brush off gossip...but since this is a teacher and my daughter is in that school.....I feel a little worried.

She has told someone that I "sleep around"....and "have sex with men while my husband is home".....

Both are ENTIRELY untrue. And I will swear that on my kids's lives...and take a polygraph!! Its all vicious, evil lies.

I was upset immediately...but got more upset when I thought "could social services come take our kids because of this rumor!!"??

Do I need to worry!?!? Should I do something about this?? Or just let it go?!??!

Can they take kids away because of a rumor?!

Our kids are spoiled, loved, VERY well taken care of. I have many people who can vouge for that. Daycare, school employees, friends....etc.

also....yes our home is clean....our girls are taken care of...never neglected....VERY happy and outgoing!!! The oldest is on the principle's distinctive honor roll...and the little one....well she's a handful :) ...almost 3!!! But she's very polite, sweet, and does well in any situation!!! We are a "normal" family. We don't go out....hang out at bars...NOTHING.

Im just concerned because isn't the school required to report things? If they hear this horrible lie......then WHAT!?!? Most of them know me personally.....I had them when I was in school!! :) So they would know better..........but I know it just takes one goody-two shoes to think they are doing something fantastic......GRRR!!!

Its just so evil, untrue, and vicious....I can't handle it. :( :( :( :(

I understand it would have to be reported for anything to even happen in the first place. But the fact this rumor is "Im having sex with men while my husband is in the house".......couldn't that be interpreted as a bad home environment for children or something like that!!?!?!??!

THAT is what Im worried about. This evil hag is not only accusing me of cheating....she's going above and beyond to say Im doing it in my own HOME!!!!

I will also add that as far as a "record"...or anything of the sort....my husband and I have NOTHING. Not even so much as a speeding ticket!!!!! Never called the cops....never HAD the cops called on us for anything. We are simple, normal, people!!!!!!! If social services walked into our house...they'd find it warm, stocked full of food, (a little messy from toys!) :) , well furnished and the girls have their own rooms, many gadgets toys, etc.

This evil teacher has made us out to be horrible . :( :( :( :(

No they cannot take your kids for that... Whether it is true or not.. they only things they look for are a clean healthy living evironment, and that there are no signs of abuse... other than that what you do in your personal time is none of their concern....

My answer is the same as everyone, no, they cannot take your children from unfounded claims. However, it is imperative for you to take this issue up with the Principal and the teacher. I am a teacher and I am working on my Administrative license. The behavior of this teacher is completely unprofessional. The administrator may be unaware of the behavior of this teacher and would most likely take some type of action if the behavior continued.

Good luck!

If i were you i would go to the school and have a parent/teacher conference with this teacher and the principle. That is totally unprofessional and totally unacceptable behavior on the teachers part. Even if this teacher is not your child's teacher you still need to make sure that you stand up for yourself and your child because your child does not want to hear that kind of stuff about her mother...and she shouldn't have to especially at school from teachers. Thats absolutely rediculous, true or untrue.

In order for SS to even know about something like this someone would have to report it anyways, SS wouldn't even look your way! They have more things to worry about than a cheating spouse. I would confront the teacher or just take it to the principal and let them know exactly what is going on and you want it to stop because you're worried about your children thinking it's true.

I would stop stressing about it... Yeah anyone can file a complaint, it is an issue when a complaint is founded...which in your statements you are saying it is not. I would however, find a way to address the teachers immaturity.. with a mediator (principal, etc.). As long as the children are safe the teacher really has no basis to be worried about your life...

Sounds like she needs to get a life.

Hi! I have a prolem with our puplic school sytem in the first place. I have started homeschooling my daughter who is 9 yrs old. I thought for a few years that she was in school that these so call teachers like the ones that you are talking about had to teach my child and be around my child. I was shown differnt though. I am a christian and this even made me a bigger one when I started homeschooling her. This has been differnt for my family. It has been great for them to. I do not have to put up with what the teachers say anymore. Most of them want stand up for what is right in these school because of fear of losing their jobs. I have not meet one that will stand up for Christ. We need prayer in school. We need bible taught in these schools. If you do hve that in their with along the other that has to be taught to. Then you have teachers like her that are getting away with stuff like that. This is one way that the devil gets into the schools is by people like her. So i will tell you stand up for what is right. These things want bother you so much if you do what the Lord wants you to do. I lived in a small town all my life and I know what it is like and went to school with teachers that started stuff like this with me and my family. What was so bad my Mother was a teacher at that same school where it got started from. So do what is right and maybe see into homeschooling. It might just start something that is good and start a new thing about GOD. Thanks emily.

If you can substantiate that the teacher did in fact start this rumor you probably have grounds for a lawsuit against the school and the teacher. And will probably be able destroy the teachers career. good luck.

I really don't think CPS could take children away for that reason.

As for advise, I would talk to that teacher's boss. There is no reason a teacher should be talking about sexual behaviors of student's parents. That is just crazy and she shouldn't even be teaching.

The only way for the state to take your children away is if they have reasonable suspicion that your child is in harms way... Even if you did sleep around, it wouldn't be an issue unless your children were at risk for harm...

that the very most social services will investigate when the claim is proven false. its dropped. the person who reported a false claim will face charges of reporting a false claim which comes with jail time. i know this because i was reported falsly and that girl went to jail and lost custody of her baby. also my claim against her was proven accurate.
