Sure. A complete lack of human interaction and affection is not, but sex is not so important that it should detriment mental health. This is not to say it doesn't have mental and physical benefits in a healthy, good relationship. (And there is the whole undeniable factor of the human drive to reproduce. Sex is natural, but like in any society our natural drives also have to take into account other things. Like a long term mate, for example..)

That's essentially my belief - a healthy, mutually respectful relationship is great for mental health. Sex is usually a byproduct of that (And hence why sometimes people will believe sex is what is important for the mind and emotions)- but I think we need to be careful not to mistake one for the other.

I have 2 different friends who chose this route. there both a little naive and Lacking in common sense in whole.
