The 'LUNGS OF OUR PLANET' are being destroyed slowly but surely by the relentless deforestation.

This will result in :

The CO2 content of the atmospheric air increasing
The O2 content of the atmospheric air increasing.
Decrease in the average annual rainfall.
Contributing to global warming.

I lived and worked 12 years in Ecuador rain-forest and it did rain . 100 in per year. Everything that is a plant is doing fine there. I have Sean wire fence that was put up to keep live stock off the road ,and the post sprouted and started growing. The only threatened thing there is man. It is one of the most dangerous jungles in the world.

It is mostly controlled, but there are many illegal cuts going on, and not much reforestation programs, but you don't need to worry, cause local governments usually take care of forest, you should think more in the big companies, they cut a lot, but they are regulated. I'm from Colombia and the concern here is more about anti drugs fumigation in the jungle, and its effects on fauna and flora. Besides tourism helps to conserve these forests, with ecological-hotels, there are many of them in Colombia

Wow um what do you think people think???? That obviously its bad its contributing to CO2 pollution which is part of the reason there is global warming. YES hundreds of species are dying out as well. But whos to stop the logging companies from destroying the Amazon?
