I'm a Firefighter/EMT....we go into burning buildings to save lives, protect property. I could be wrong but I think most people want to save their homes and would hope that they would want to be saved. the job is very rewarding...also very depressing. we see a lot of gory scenes. but that is why we are there. you can never understand what it is like to save a life until you do it. and you will never understand the adrenaline rush it is to get on the truck for a house fire.

My husband is a volunteer fire fighter. He trains hard, runs around in all weather & times of the day and night, and he does his best to save people & property. All of this happens on his free time!!!
I bought him a shirt that says " My time & my gas to save your @ss. Support your local Fire Department!"
I think that pretty much sums it up!

They're not worth having around. They sit in the fire-house all day playing cards, eating doughnuts, telling girl stories. They're a waste of the taxpayers money- - - - until there's a fire, of course.
