Go to "start".."run"..type in msconfig then click on "startup"..uncheck anything slowing your system down then click on "Services" and do the same...then you'll have to reboot...when system reboots it will prompt you about the changes you made...just check the box on the bottom left side saying..."don't show this message again"

That should solve your problem...Good luck

First of all it sounds like you need to de-frag your disk.It also sounds like you have too many programs running in the background.Every shortcut you have on your screen is a running program.Delete the ones you don't use all the time from your screen, you already have them in your start program. But I would de-fragment the disk.My pc has worked a lot better since I just did this last nite.Basically you should defrag your disk at least once a week.It takes approx an hour or a little better then an hour.

attempt an finished equipment clean up: eliminate any classes that you dont use anymore or haven't any favor of, de-automate those unnecessary classes that runs promptly whenever you turn on your pc, run all of your anti-virus and anti-secret agent ware softwares for experiment, and de-frag. If that doesnt help one bit, i imagine you would favor to improve your ram.
