I'm not Christian, but just tell them that God gave you this beautiful skin, the ability to decorate it and the creativity to pick something that would express who you are and what you feel.
**************
Shar7 inspired me with another come back.
Ask them why that beautiful God made tree isn't good enough to worship God and why you have to build a church to worship Him.
Just an idea.

As a Christian and or Catholic (like me) your taught that GOD does NOT judge people. God Knows the real you.... He knows that by you tattooing yourself you as a person will not change.
Yes you will be stereotyped now, but EVERYONE FACES THAT!!
God says your body is a temple. Well if your a healthy person who takes care of your body, minus the fact you have tattoos theres No problem with it.
God forgives of you feel like youve done something wrong by getting a tattoo.
I look at it this way... Im catholic,I have faith I believe in God, Im a good person, I dont Drink, smoke,or take drugs into my body.
BUT im covered in tattoos and im a woman!
But You only LIVE ONCE, tattos are beautiful, and tattoos are Art. When I die , i know god wont cast me down to hell! He may ask why i did what i did to myself, but the fact of the matter is, Im living a good life, like any other normal person.

I really hate that. I am a christian and I dont have tattoos, but I do have piercings... and I want a tattoo. i just think it is a way to express yourself, and if it is a religious tattoo then I dont see it as "hethonistic". I love the saying "Body Piercing saved my life" I think Piercings and tattoos are basically just a way to express yourself... and its just a style. And I think the people that ask that are hypocritical... everybody has insecurities and everybody does thing that are not "natural" to hide those insecurities... wearing make up, getting lyposuction, botox.... all of that.. Its the same thing!

I have tattoos and I'm a Christian. It's your body, and that should be between you and God. As long as your are living the life you know God wants you to, then those opinions of other shouldn't matter.

I almost love the way god made my body but like everyone else I have insecurities and know I am not perfect.
My tattoo is a way of expressing myself to the world.
It does not mean I hate my body or dislike it.
Catholics shouldn't judge people anyway.
Infact no one has the right to judge anybody else or intimidate them in any way shape or form

I was raised a catholic, but do not practice my faith any longer.
I have my own beliefs, and ways of worshiping God now,
I have a fair knowledge of religion. I also have tattoos.
I believe, in the bible it is said that God loves all his creations, and all will be forgiven, as long as you believe in Him, give Him thanks, and share the good word with others.
The world was a different place to when the testements were written, and some of the underlying morals are impossible to apply to our 20th century lives.
I believe that God understands our changing world, after all He created it!
He would see your artwork, simply as a symbol of your devotion, and love of Him.
Best wishes

christianity is a religious mindset, and tattooing is art. what? christians don't like art? if that were true, they would build churches and cathedrals out of brick and stone and never paint or decorate them. after all, god created these materials and shouldn't we appreciate them the way they naturally are? gee, think of the amazing art that would have never existed if that were true!! god gave you your body and free will to use it. beautiful artwork cannot be desecration when created by someone's god-given talent.

Point out the fact that cutting your hair, piercing your ears, clipping your nails, wearing makeup, dyeing your hair...these are all ways of altering your natural body. I fielded this question a billion times before I finally chose to put some distance between myself & the church altogether...anyways, a youth pastor I knew used to answer this question like this: "it's a way I can witness to people...by talking about my tattoo and what it means to me."

A good "Christian" would never judge another person.
So any Christian who goes around saying things like that isn't really much of a good Christian, now are they??
Tattoos are a personal choice. And I'm sure there are millions of Christians who have them.
If someone doesn't like it, tell them to keep their opinions to themselves.

Yes,I do. The tattoo thing, whoever ask's you the question about it, don't worry about it, just tell them the reason you got it in the first place. If they want to judge you about it,thats them.Remember, all they are speaking is words and that shouldn't hurt you.Its only one comment from about a million.
