Do you mean, why do people go out with other people and when the relationship ends, they "break-up"? My friend, you are talking about every person on this earth who wants to be married, date, spend time with,be companion with and loved by someone else.
You sound quite young. You write that you believe you should never do this. Be careful what you wish for. Yes, you will have your heart broken but YOU will break someone's heart as well. There will come a day when YOU meet someone who seems really wonderful and they turn out to be unstable, boring, pathetic, whatever and you will want to end it.
It's part of life and has nothing to do with whether you're a man or a woman.
Also, asking a question like this one will surely alienate and isolate you from women!
Be content with your life and remember we are all on this earth being there for each other AND making mistakes as well.

Women are confusing, if she likes you she needs you to blow her off a few times, then she needs to see that other girls want you so that she can get a little jealous.
If you give her too much attention she doesn't want it, don't give her enough attention she may look elsewhere. When you want to listen to her she doens't want to talk, when you don't listen she gets mad.
The list goes on and on...on how a** backwards men have to do things to keep the one we either A) want to love or B) we do love.

Not all women are hypocrites, but some are. I just started a yahoo group to deal with women who are hypocrites.

Where would men be without women??? A whole lot less confused but heaps more boring!
