I have tattoos and I want to get more. I did read in the bible that it says do not tattoo your bodies. It also says stone people for committing adultery. Men shouldn't cut their sideburns, don't even touch a woman when she has her period. Don't decorate a tree with tinsel. Sacrifice lambs and birds and other animals in the temple. Did Jesus end the laws of the old testament? He said he came to fulfill them. So, all this, and I don't know what to say. I have to still pray about it to see if I will get more (the ones i do have were prereligious).

1 Peter 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

Is it really any of their business why you have a tattoo? Quote that verse at them, with emphasis on the "busybody" part. Or quote the one about not passing judgment on others lest they, also, be judged the same way.

OR, just point out that they must not like THEIR bodies, either, or they wouldn't be hiding them under clothing, styling their hair, wearing makeup, etc. Do they wear perfume, cologne, or deodorant? Must be because they don't like the natural body odor that God gave them!

Recently a friend of mine was confronted by some JW,s asking her about her tattoo's using the scripture Lev.19:28,showing her the words in the Bible, she in turn asked them about verse 27 just above it.The reason God did not want His people tattooing themselves is because it was a common practice among the heathen to tattoo their gods upon their bodies. Now I am not in favor of tattoo's but that is my personal conviction, for me.Verse 27 of that chapter tells us not to shave our beards.Again for the same reason God asked this of His people. The heathen were cutting and shaping their beards in recognition of their gods.So you see if these laws were still into effect us fellows would all be walking around with beards. And last of all I would like for you just to ask God to have the ( Holy Ghost ) direct you into this.He will lead you into what is needed.Maybe your tattoo's can be used to reach out to someone that wouldn't give me the time of day,but would talk with you.We all have different ministries because we are all so different.Thank you my Father, praise your Holy Name, and touch this man and use him accordingly to glorify your name in all the earth. In Jesus name amen!

So it should. In every religious book Torah, Bible and Quran it clearly says you should not mark your body that it is a sin. You cannot pick and choose from your faith what suits you, I'm afraid it does not work that way.

Colouring your hair...not permanent.
Painting your nails....not permanent
Wearing clothes? Wear in any religious book does it say don't wear clothes are you people on something?

Leviticus 19.28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you. I am the Lord.

Well, if I were a Christian, I would say that I did it because the verse in Leviticus 19:

"You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the LORD. " (28)

is right next to:

‘Do not prostitute your daughter, to cause her to be a harlot, lest the land fall into harlotry, and the land become full of wickedness." (29)

so it can't be all that important to God...

But I am not. So, it is your problem.

I know a lot of Christians who feel that tattoos can be a wonderful tool in witness. I mean it's there for all to see- maybe convicts you yourself to live up to it, it starts conversations and helps non Christians to see that Christians are normal and can be cool. Not necesarily "square".
Course, this is assuming it's a tattoo reflecting your beliefs...
If it's something random like a heart, butterfly etc., then, no, don't think there's any point to that.

Don't be bothered by what other people say to you. People who are critical are not worth being troubled about. Just bcos you have a tattoo and most women have pierced ears doesn't mean you don't like yourself - quite a shallow statement.

Don't listen to that.
It's just too pathetic.
What about cloth?
What if some guy says that "why are you hiding your body? Are you embarrassed the way God made you?"
Are you going to take your cloth off? They can say that to anything man made and consider it a sin.
The Amish people is a good example. That's how they became like that.
Are you willing to live like them?

Having a tattoo has nothing to do with liking your body. It is just a form of self expression. I would say that it in fact shows your great comfort with your body. God is not concerned with your body. I have great faith that He is only concerned with my actions and deeds. And not judging others for their choices is one of my best deeds.

Love it... Just a couple here...

Use the scriptures: "Judge not least ye be judged as tho "YE" were the sinner". AND be sure to say it sweetly while you are smiling.

Sure, I like my body... but God created me naked but also gave me a mind so I can choose how I want to cover it. I have chosen not to wear a fig leaf.... How about you?

GOOD LUCK
