High strength ale worked wonders for me. I used to be a skinny weed too but a daily diet of 6 - 8 cans of superstrength real ale soon turned me into the healthy 16 and a half stone man boobed hunk that I now am.
Also, try eating loads and loads of parsnips and brussel sprouts. Not to make you fatter mind, but to help you create the most eye watering and wholesome guffs.

Weight lifting won't make your face chubbier, although my first suggestion would be to in fact get into a sport such as football, where very strong muscles are formed. Muscle weighs more than fat- when I used to play football, I had a slightly larger bum and thighs, but they were toned due to muscles. Since quitting football, those muscles wasted away a little, and within ~6 weeks of eating like I did while playing sport, I actually lost 1 1/2 stone. Just to illustrate how muscle can increase your weight.

Back to you, I would suggest looking at this page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/healthy_living/your_weight/reaching_gain.shtml
It gives you general ideas, such as increasing your calorie intake by 350 calories per day, and being realistic with weight gain targets.

You'll need to eat a balanced, healthy diet, which will mean eating from the five major food groups:
Bread, cereals and potatoes
Fruit and vegetables
Meat, fish and alternatives- of course for you, you would be looking at the alternative side. Do you eat fish? What about meat alternatives such as Quorn? Perhaps try eating Tofu.
Milk and dairy products
Foods containing fat and foods containing sugar

From your question about foods high in things, I would advise you to keep away from high levels of fat, as not only is it an unhealthy way to gain weight, but it can cause digestion trouble, not mentioning potential heart problems.
In contrast though, carbohydrates, which break down slowly and release energy slowly, would probably do very well for you. Protein too, although as a vegetarian you may struggle with this, unless you can find protein supplements to take along with your new diet.

I'm not much of a dietician, but this should probably help you. If not, I would strongly advise going to your GP and ask to be referred to a trained dietician to help you gain weight properly.

Good luck! =)

There is an ebook called "Diet Liberation" that made me a vegetarian.. It has all the information on how to be a vegetarian and still eat the right protein, carbs, fat, etc....
Here is the website. You have to look to the left under the e-books and Diet Liberation is towards the bottom of the list. There is a free 78 page look at the book to see if you like it. It's very interesting and it will help you gain the weight you want to gain.
Good Luck...Hope this helps..

Ignore the person telling you that weight lifting will make you skinny... Its nonsense. Do high weight low-reps weight training. Eat a lot of protein... As a veggie look at the helpful link below for vegetarian sources of protein, and Promax protein supplement which you can take between meals to build up. Good luck. :-))

right, here goes, my g/f was down to 6 stones and needed to pile on the pounds, she did it by (noone tells you this, they, media, always on about getting thin) eating three weetabix with a spoonful of treacle and warm milk. S*** that means you cant have milk. Dont be a veggie and try to get fat it wont work, my mate who lives 200 miles away is a vegan, skinny as the perverbial rake.......

You don’t need to exercise for long periods of time. Short, sharp sets of exercise will produce better results in case you work hard. Get a skipping rope, skip for two minutes, do push ups for 60 seconds or so, skip for two minutes, rest first minute. Then change the push approximately something else like sit ups and do the set again. Repeat it five times and it’s a simple, effective workout that will advance results than a long work or swim.

Lifting or exercising at all will make thinner. A pound of muscle on your body burns more calories per hour than a pound of anything else. So lifting indirectly will make you lose weight. Eat lots of pasta and stop exercising. My friend was vegan and loaded up on french fries and tater tots for some extra pounds.

Before you do anything unnatural to your body, seek out a doctor---your problem may not be weight, but proper balance of minerals and acids.

Hi carb diet will plump you up, but honey fat don't care where it sits---on your thighs, butt, face, anywhere.

Go to a weight management clinic--they do have advise for those who are underweight.
