One issue that really energized the anti-federalist camp was the failure on the part of the federalists to include a Bill of rights in the Constitution. Once that problem was rectified the anti-federalists were defeated and gradually withered away as an effective force. However, their issues lived on, becoming attached to the pro-slavery forces of the 19th century and to the anti-Big Government forces of the Reagan years.

Federalist is just another propaganda campaign cooked up by the right wing to overthrow the country and eliminate freedom.
As much as they claim otherwise this has nothing to do with actual thoughts of people like James Madison and the Federalist papers.
Madison was specifically writing (among other things) that businesses need to be kept from power lest they use their money to bribe and otherwise influence the Congress.
The Federalist Society which is a gang of the most right wing lawyers helping to force their agenda, that in typical Orwellian fashion, is mostly the opposite of what Madison wanted.
Any current anti-Federalists are merely aware of the Federalist Society and oppose their goals, and has little to do with actual federalism on either side.
