Definitely a man thing. My hubby thinks the more dishes he uses the better a cook he is.

Myself and my partner take it in turns to cook well that was the arrangement when we moved in together (umm i tend to more nights then him though ) i use as least pots as possible but he uses pots i didn't even know we had .I think it comes down to the fact guys don't think that they could maybe reuse a spoon just by running it under boiling water or using a jug that has had water in it for something else .When my partner cooks he shouts for help for dishing it up when i cook I do it all ummm odd that i can cope from the beginning to the end but he can't .:) no wonder we are the ones who give birth :)

You are so right about this. My man not only uses every pot and pan in the house, but I am thrown out of the kitchen and then called back regularly to show him how to do things! To make matters worse every meal he has cooked in the last eight years he has taken a photograph of!!!! Can you believe it, we nearly have a full album of his meals. If I took a phot of every meal we'd have to move out of the bloody house~ He, ho can't live with them; but life would be so much better without them!

I really wish I knew the answer to that one. My bloke uses every utensil in the house and you generally are finding bits of food spattered across various parts of the kitchen for weeks after. And on top of that, he insists that because he cooked, he doesn't have to clean up - even though I cook AND clean up every night!!

To create more washing up for you or he may think that by doing this you will think he is a better cook and think he has put loads of effort in.

More than that....why does he have to try and make good recipes...."better" but in the end messes them up.
My hubby adds a stick of butter to Velveeta Shells and Cheese. He puts brick cheese on pizza to fill in the empty mozzarella spots!!!
If it aint' broke, don't fix it!

You know there are some things that will annoy us like hellbut we'll never get them, like men scratching their privates in public (what's that about). i think if he's cooking hide all the things you don't want him to use, then you don't have to the dishes afterwards.
