Yes, but make sure that the petals won't discolor the frosting. The flowers will have to be added right before the cake is presented.

Sure you can...My son was just married and this was a question for the florist. We've never heard of anyone getting sick from flower petal residue on frosting. Remove the flowers after the first cut. And, as with weddings always, good to be safe and just put some wax paper down under the flowers to avoid thoughts of pesticides on the flowers??? or allergies to certain things. You just want everything to be perfect so it is best to run a little on the paranoid side...everyone does. So if your florist uses a little caution, you can have your cake with flowers and eat it too. Good luck with the wedding.

Yes. If the flowers dont come on the cake by the cake maker then the florist will do it. Just let her know before hand that you want her to decorate your cake with flowers. They charge a little extra but its worth it. They all ready know about the dyes and that kinda stuff so you dont have to worry about that. They are the experts. Good Luck!

Yes, but you need to make sure that they were grown specifically for use in food. You can't just buy them at WalMart or even a florist, because pesticides are used to grow those flowers, and that could be toxic. Check with whoever is baking your cake, if it's a business, they should know where to get edible flowers. Restaurant wholesalers in town would be another place, but you might have trouble buying from a wholesaler.
Good luck!

Yes you can, but if the flowers are poisonous be sure to use a barrier between the flower and the cake, something like tinfoil that won't be seen. Also please make sure the person cutting and serving your cake knows to remove all flowers (unless they are edible ones) before plating the cake!! Check online or with your florist as to whether or not the flowers are poisonous.

You can place REAL flowers that are CUT onto a cake. Some flowers (like orchids) are even edible.
But you can't place LIVE UNCUT flowers on a cake, as they would still be potted in DIRT.

Yes. Be careful if the flower is poisonous. Otherwise they can be placed directly on the cake.

As long as you put a barrier between them & the cake. Some flowers are toxic. You don't want to poison your guests. :)
Also they make little tubes that you can place a group of flowers into & insert them into the cake.
This is a store here in town. WONDERFUL place.

Yes I'm sure you can but I think you can only put them on at the last minute. As an alternative you could use silk flowers which can look very pretty too.
