OEM stand for Original Equipment Manufacturer. OEM software packages are those sold to computer manufacturers for inclusion on new systems. Often, OEM software does not include full functionality and is produced to give the new PC buyer an idea of how the software works in hopes that the user will buy or upgrade to the full software package.

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. It is the software that comes pre-loaded/bundled with a new pc.
In some cases you can buy this software at a discount as long as you buy *some* kind of hardware. It also may not have free technical support offered as well.
Here is an example http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=335900

OEM = Original Equiment Manufacturer.
It's usually software (but not always) that comes bundled and pre-installed with a PC. Often it will be subtly different from the same program if you bought it separately because it may be "optimised" for machine.

It stands for "Original Equipment Manufacture" Software . if you purchased a piece of hardware i.e webcam, sound card ect(not always a PC), then that manufacture may supply there own in-house software with it rather than software made by a third party, but lots of software maybe developed via third parties and just labled with a brand name.
