Nothing too serious, making a full recovery from ebola may be pushing it a bit. Just something a little obscure and not that deadly?

How about just taking a week of vacation?

Hint: never lie about illness at work. You'll need a doctor's note most of the time, and when you ARE found out to be lying you'll be fired amazingly quickly.

Strep throat is a good one. It's very contagious and it will take you down for about a week. Chicken pox is also highly contagious, but you won't have any pox marks when you "recover". Food poisoning is always a solid alibi -- it usually involves throwing up and diarrhea and you wouldn't want to have those at work. Migraine headaches can also strike for days at a time. I'd probably go with Strep throat as my illness of choice. People won't want to get sick from you at work, and you'd have to "go to the doctor" for a throat culture and for medicine... so unless you have to cough up that doctor's note, the "visits to the doctor" will buy you a day or two of being "sick". Enjoy your sick week!!!

Upset stomach or personal problems. The two of the best!!

Or say you have toilet troubles.. if your brave enough! Nobody will ask you questions over that and you'll find that the conversation will move on quickly!
