Do you go around attempting to "PROVE" that Unicorns don't exist? What about Mermaids? Leprachauns? Hey what about Dragons? Do you spend countless hours attempting to prove that Sea Monsters, Little Green Men, Fairies, Ghosts and Gobblins don't exist? How about proving that there is no "twin" earth that is always on the opposite side of the Sun from us doesn't exist?
Are ya maybe gettin the point now? People don't have to prove the non existance of things that doesn't exist, the burden of proof for something someone claims exists is on the person claiming it exists! For example : 'GOD' - got any proof?

Whatever you believe, I wouldn't rely on Dawkins. He is in fact a very poor thinker. He is great at the rhetoric but as a scientist he is abysmal. He has never had an original thought, he just repeats others parrot fashion. And in debate, he just repeats his same lines over and over, displaying he doesn't have a grasp of anything much but a very good memory. Lets find someone better to read.

There aren't facts that God doesn't exist, just many reasons why it's unlikely.
For instance if God was all good, he would help those suffering.
People say we suffer to develope our character but there is an excess of suffering.
If God was all knowing he would know those people were suffering and do something about it.
If he was all powerful he'd be able to do something about it.
Logically there can not be an all good, all knowing, all powerful God. (The Judeo-Christian God)
He could be all knowing and all powerful and evil.
He could be all good and powerless.

Atheists and agnostics generally don't pro-actively argue against the existence of God so much as just disbelieve, but you can point out the wastage and brutality that characterise life on earth and to Christians you can point out the flaws, contradictions and absurdities within their bible.

Agnostics would never try to prove it one way or another. They believe that the exitence and nature of a god is unknowable to our limited minds. To presume knowledge is arrogance.
Athiests believe there is no god. One cannot prove a negative, nor is it really necessary.
If there is a god, the burden of proof lies with her.

you cant tell them their God does not exist ... same as you cant prove he does
you may be able to point out errors in their religion ... you can do that with any religion
but why would you want to convince someone what makes them happy is wrong ?
by all means try and help them respect others rights to believe though

There a lot of good websites, in particular refutations of creationist rhetroric but in terms of books I would heartily recommend 'the god delusion' by biologist richard dawkins - the arguments arent revolutionary but he does collect a variety of arguments against gods existence in one place so its a good handbook for the active atheist.

Well the lack of any proof or evidence is proof of it's non-existence.
Anything so described by christians would leave SOME evidence of it's existence. But there is none. Not one single verifiable shred. That's why they say you need "faith".
Faith is the abscence of truth.

Why would you want to do that?
I am also agnostic, but I would never tell someone that there isn't a God.
Why would you want to make anyone's life harder?

I agree with those who say, "Why do that?" Believe what you like and let others believe as they like. Then, you could use your spare time to learn how to spell. No one respects questions with misspellings.
