They are most likely trying not to judge but possibly using a fear/scare tactic to get others to get interested in their religion. I personally think it's wrong as a Christian, but many Christians can and will speak with authority (as God's vessels) and many people feel convicted by that or feel that they are talking to and about them, when in fact it may be God talking through people to other people or to a particular person to convict them of their lives and to get them to turn away from the road of destruction and spiritual death. There is no grey area with Christianity or God for that matter and that is clear.

Okay, telling someone who doesn't believe in God that they will go to hell does sound like judging them, but in truth, we are saying what we believe from what the Bible says.

I would say that "christians" do not do that. Christian means Christ -like, those people are not acting Christ-like.
