I've had cats in my life for more than 40 years. This is normal. If your cat starts to lose weight, try another flavor. Cats usually eat when they are hungry. The pouch food is moist and does get stale once opened. If he's not eating that, stop giving it and just use dry for awhile. Use the pouch food as a treat. I just tamed a "mamma" cat and she had her kitten under our shed. They are both tame to our family. The kitten sometimes goes 2 days without eating and then will "pig out" (eat several times during the day for the next day or two). My current cats are outdoor cats. Indoor cats will eat when they are hungry if you leave dry food and water out for them. Cats aren't owned, they own you! Have fun with your kitten!

Check with your vet, but at 5 months, your little guy should probably still be on kitten food. But it sounds like he's eating well and you say he's energetic so I wouldn't worry. Cats do tend to eat a little at a time, then go away and later come back for more. They won't usually eat the whole thing at once, and since yours is getting a little older, he may not be as hungry all the time as when he was first weaned. Good luck to you.

As long as your kitten is not skinny, ill, or showing a lack of energy, the amount he's eating is fine for him. Don't try to have him eat more than he would like because he knkows how much he should eat much better than anyone else. If he does start losing weight or becomes ill, try some other kinds of food. He may just be a picky eater and prefers a different flavor for his food.

How are you feeding her? in case you're feeding her with a bottle, be certain that the hollow is enormous sufficient for the milk to get by skill of even as she sucks. If she's no longer being bottle fed, you are able to attempt it with a watch dropper. She would nicely be too youthful yet for any form of strong nutrition. If she would not devour by using the following day morning, you've to call or deliver her t the vet.

My cat goes through stages where he won't stop eating for a week... and then hardly eat anything for a week.
I try to give my cat a variety of can food... so that it is not the same boring old thing every day. That seem to help.
I only feed my cat a can of 85gr per day... and as much of dry biscuits as he likes.

For a 5 month old kitten that is more than enough food. My 3 year old moggy ate less than that. Just leave it out for him. He will go back to it if he's hungry. You could also try changing his food if you're really worried. Try him on whiskers or something like that, as they have loads of different flavours and he won't get bored eating it.

If your kitten is active and healthy, don't worry about how much he's eating. He's getting enough for his needs. If he was over eating and getting fat or being lazy, then you'd have something to worry about.
You should take him to the vet for a check up and shots and while you're there, the vet will give him the old "once over" and will alert you if there are any problems. Also, while you're there, make a date with the vet to have your pet neutered (spay is for female cats & dogs). I have included a link on the benefits of nutering.

I have two young cats and they were a little fussy about their food. try different brands.
one of my cats is a little skinny but she is healthy and happy, like people they come in all shapes and sizes. if he stops eating completely then you should worry, but otherwise it should be ok.
check his eyes are clear and bright, check his skin for any dryness or irritation. if his eyes are clear and bright, and he has a shiny coat he will be fine.
If you're still worried pop down to the vet for some reassurance.

As long as he isn't lethargic I'd say he's fine... Don't worry... Our kittens weren't eating much more than that when they were 5 months old...
