cracking knuckles cause arthritus?

Not true. That is an old wives tale taught to kids because parents didn't know and it annoyed the parents also. Studies have shown no ill effects of cracking knuckles. Actually, studies have also shown it has positive effects on joints such as delaying arthritis. Think of it as stretching and exercise for your joints. So crack away!!!

No it doesn,t cause arthritis to crack your knuckles..Arthritis is caused when the bones lose density..Its just a bad habit..

if you crack your knuckles that just means you are getting rid of stiffness in your fingers

no its an old wives tale. It has been proven that it is a build up of a kind of bubble of gas that pops and makes the noise

nope , you are just moving fluids around when you hear that cracking. It can be quite theraputic , just not for the person who has to sit there and listen to you doing it

It has actually been studied and proven that when you pop your joints (finger, back, neck) it can help to keep them in better shape. It is simular to stretching and exercising your joints.

my doctor told me that cracking is harmless, but hyperextending is bad.. just be careful.. if it hurts, don't do it..

yes! please don't ever crack your knuckles. my friend use to always crack his knuckles. know he has very severe arthritis. his hands are lways hurting!
