Baptism is an outward example of an inward experience. it does not "save your soul", it is a way to show all that you Believe in God, have accepted Jesus as your personal savior, asked for forgiveness of your sins, and believe these with all of your being.
full immersion is the only way it is described in the Bible.

It sounds like you are a fairly new Christian if you're asking this question. Baptism goes with your regeneration, but let me offer a dissenting view from our Arminian friends that insist on baptism after the age of reason. I believe that baptism belongs not only to the believer, but also the "entire households" as mentioned in the New Testament-- which means this is an issue involving authority and conducting a household in a Christian manner -- therefore infants, standing in need of the Savior, are also included.
This is because baptism does not consist of our own "works" as merits toward any earning of heaven. Rather, this is a sacrament ordained by Christ, not just man's symbol, but God's covenant, and therefore the rite belongs to God, not man.
As for the amount of water to be used and whether full immersion is required, I believe that Baptists get so far off the subject on the form for baptism that they lose the meaning of what it points to, i.e. mortification and forgiveness of sins.
So yes, I'm very much for baptism as a "marking" of God's own, but I believe infants are just as much a part of the covenant as are adults.

Baptism is good IF the person being baptized has CHOSEN to. I do not agree with baptizing infants because they have no choice. It is wrong to FORCE the unable to take on your beliefs, and that is actually what it is when an infant is baptized. Just because it is your child and an infant that cannot speak or make decisions does not give the right. I feel that allowing the choice when the child is older is the better option. But this is only my opinion.

Baptism is in obedience to the commandments. The first ordnance necessary to prepare to receive eternal life.
Baptism must be preformed by one holding the proper authority, like, John the Baptist. Or it is of no value. It also prepares one to start a new life of following Christ, by washing you clean from sin.
Because God loves all people the Ordnance of Baptism is being preformed for the deceased, so that all mankind has the ability to receive this necessary ordnance. This ordnance for the deceased is only valid only if it is willingly accepted by each individual prior to the Resurrection.

Baptism is good because it's a tradition.
Baptism is bad because you're dunking a baby under water.

there really is no arguing this.
