Traveling in July to visit in Washington and Oregon and want to enjoy Canada and see some of their attractions in that area. All 6 of us are senior citizens and do not want to spend long in any one spot. Good places to eat would also be helpful

Oh my Goodness!! You are gonna have the time of your lives!!
All of that area is so beautiful!!

Okay, I don't know the route you are planning to take, but here are some suggestions for you. I only am familiar with Alberta, British Columbia, Washington and Oregon, so anything east of there I won't be touching on.

In Southeastern Alberta, The Royal Tyrell Museum (it's a Dinosaur Museum) is an absolute must see! http://www.tyrrellmuseum.com/peek/

From there, going west towards Calgary, stop and take in the views of the Badlands! http://www.traveldrumheller.com/

West of Calgary is Banff, which is a cool touristy town, but the "must see" here is Lake Louise and the Columbia Icefields.

From there, go west down in to Vancouver, and spend a day or two in Vancouver. Here are some sights to see there:

Stanley Park, an amazing large urban Park. Horse-drawn trolley, the Vancouver Aquarium, Gardens, Beaches, a Tea House, and more.

Gastown ... historical area with quaint shops and cobblestone streets. http://www.seegastown.com/

Granville Island, an artsy area with lots of little shops and cafe's as well as the Model Ship and Model Train Museums.

The Giggle Dam Dinner Theatre ... something different ...

You might also want to take a ferry to Victoria.

If you go to Victoria, you can take a ferry from there to Anacortes, WA which is a darling little town in it's own right.

If you go from Vancouver into WA, take some time to visit a few places in Bellingham, about 20 miles south of the border.

My favorite restaurant in Bellingham is a Greek Restaurant called Mykonos, very reasonably priced and A-1 atmosphere and service. Located east of I-5 at exit 258, just north of the Hampton Inn. http://www.emediawire.com/releases/2006/5/emw383302.htm

In Seattle, there is the Space Needle and Seattle Center, among other attractions.

South of Seattle however is the absolute must see, do not miss ... Mt. St. Helens!! If you do nothing else, go visit and pay for the visitor center pass to visit all the visitor centers, and go all the way up to Johnson Ridge. http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/mshnvm/
Hoffstadt Bluff Visitor Center has an excellent restaurant in it, including patio seating. http://www.mt-st-helens.com/

I am sorry this is so long .. I have more places to suggest .... email me at pynkgold@aim.com if you would like me to share more places, including in Oregon.

wow! can't beat that thorough answer above mine! I just want to ADD that along the way you should stop at Canmore. Its a town along the way between Calgary and Banff. Its a very very pretty little town thats great for residents and visitors, and it has some great little restaurants including one that came from Switzerland. Its such a beautiful place, its nicer and more modern and more genuine, and has less "tourist hype" than Bannff and is just less famous so far, you shouldn't miss it. There is a pub too, that serves local brews (made with fresh mountain water) that I think are the best in North America.
