...in the subject of God?

Their attitude would not fly in a court or anywhere else. They would be summarily dismissed as admittedly ignorant in the subject matter.

Follow-up:

For the record, I am a former atheist myself (10 years) and then therefore, according to the reasoning of some of the answers, am an expert in atheism as well.

To refine my example: In court, experts are listened to w/regard to their practice (expertise) in a particular subject matter. A plumber would never be called as an expert witness for a traffic violation.

As for the reasoning that many atheists "know more about" God or "the concept of God", I don't agree that is true. But even if it were, it's one thing to "know about" God than to "know God" personally. Example: Does the mere notion that I "know about" [insert your favorite Hollywood celebrity] from everything I read about him/her mean that I know him/her? No, it does not. I would "know about" him/her, but that doesn't mean I "know him/her" personally.

What atheists can't seem to understand is that, although it is important to know the Bible,it is even more important to know God. If they don't have a personal relationship with God they cannot be an expert on the subject. Knowing the Bible word for word certainly doesn't make you an expert. If you don't know God,you can't logically argue against His existence.

a individual the two has a thought, or the guy does not have that concept. Atheism is the latter. a individual choose no longer consciously reject the belief from now on than we ought to consciously reject each and all the billions of skill entities that must be proposed. as an occasion, maximum human beings probable on no account call themselves theosophists, even even with the indisputable fact that maximum human beings do no longer understand what a theosophist is (hint: you could no longer determine it out purely with tips from gazing the etymology of the word). A new child, with a recommendations that has no longer yet progressed sufficient to grapple with even plenty easier suggestions, can't carry one among these thought. As such, a sprint one ought to *implicitly* be an atheist.

they do not all claim that. a few are idiots, and a few are not really atheists, but most atheists have had a good deal of experience with religion ,and they are not as closed minded as the fundamentals who see only what they want to see.
to a believer god is an entity in literal existence, to an atheist god is a creation of man. both can be experts. neither know everything. unlike you both a reasonably logical atheist or christian will admit that.

The atheists I know don't behave that way at all. Most people who have a strong opinion about something tend to defend their beliefs. I'm sure that some atheists must feel that theists also behave as though they're the experts too.

You're not making a tremendous amount of sense.
The day you can prove to me, to the legal standard of "beyond the shadow of a doubt", that your god exists I will convert to the religion of your choice.
In the meantime you should stop making a fool of yourself by grasping at straws in silly attempts at justifying your position. A court of law deals with evidence, scientific proof, and fact. The question of the existance of God is notorious for lacking in those specific areas. As I am unable to see, touch, hear, smell, or otherwise experience your God in a quantifiable manner, I find it reasonable to assume that He doesn't exist.
Prove otherwise......

Atheists are no experts on Christianity, and in fact know litttle about it compared to Christians.

Christians have the Holy Spirit of God within us to guide us, and to give us deeper meaning of God's Word.

Atheists never had that.

And, since they don't believe in God, they are biased against Him, and thus their opinions are slanted towards their own beliefs, and taints their opinions.

Have you ever noticed how a smoker gets after they quit smoking? They get harsh about smoking even more then would any nonsmoker.
It's the same thing with Atheists that were religious. We see how you are lead around like pigs with nose rings.
We see how you are lied to and controlled and we don't want to watch you go through it. It frightens us to think that your brilliant minds are being wasted in religion.
That covers it.

So you're telling me that the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Santa Clause are real because since I don't believe in them I can't be an expert on the myths behind those traditions and that makes them really real and the idea of Santa Clause will hold up in a court of law.

So because we don't believe in a deity, we can't understand the Torah, the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, etc...?

Does that mean no one alive can understand the Greek Myths?

The simple fact is, many atheists know more about the various religions than the believers themselves -- that's WHY they're atheists.

A thorough reading of the Bible is the surest force for atheism.

Why are most gynecologists men?

And because we have done more thinking and studying on the subject than you.

Edit:

And your analogies do not work.

We are not discussing technical skills here we are discussing existence. A slightly better one would be disqualifying me from commenting on the New York Yankees because I'm a Redsox Fan, its still baseball even if I don't believe in the 'specialness' of the Yankees.
