i called her last week and she picked up the phone and said i can't talk. i'm watching a movie. so we got off the phone. so i sent her a message saying i was disappointed in her b/c she would rather wathc a movie than talk to me. we only talk maybe 4o min a week. i might also only see her once month. she said wanting her to talk to me since we talk very little instead of watching a movie. am i controlling

I need to see my bfren everyday, if not, alternate day and I need to talk with him everyday. Well, if yours is controlling, then I am... abusing? Haha...
I really believe in communication and lack of it can cause to other unnecessary misunderstandings or even no understandings. But every relationship, it takes 2 hands to clap and give and take understanding. In example, if you are the romantic type who needs to talk everyday whereas he's the nah-quiet type; then its up to compromise and able to accept each other's character and personality. So, if she dont see things in your way and wouldnt compromise but see that as a problem, then she may not be the right person to be loved by you.
But in another way, she might seek your understanding that she's watching an exciting part in the movies and its a non-rerun movie; so you have to understand and give in to her but your text messages makes her felt angry about you not being understanding and even trying to control her watching a movie.
It all depends how we see things at the moment and in actual fact, there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to relationship. Its how strong the love and passion is to keep the relationship alive. Remember, it takes two hands to clap...

I wouldn't say that that's controlling, maybe more needy than anything, if you could call it that. But you guys seem to not be able to have a relationship where you are always in each others lives, so you'd think she'd want to stop the stupid movie and talk to you. I dunno, with phone conversations of 40min/week and hanging out only 1/month, maybe you should move on. Maybe someone is out there who you can dedicate more time to and vice versa and someone who will drop everything to talk to you...just a suggestion! Good luck..

Hey, she is watching a movie, so pls have the patience to wait a bit longer, maybe you could call her later, yep, its a bit nasty when you do that. But controlling... nope , i don't think so, maybe you and her should talk it out to see whats wrong instead of cooping it up, once everything gets out of control, you will know you will go to the ending you or her won't want to go to .

From what you put on here, you don't sound controlling, you just seem to want to spend time with your girlfriend. If she can't seem to understand that, it's her own fault. Now, I don't know the whole story, but that is just what it seems to me from what you have said.
