Please accept my apology for the ignorant behavior of some of my fellow Christians. There seems to be that element in every group but as you have seen, not all of us are like that. I don't mean to offend anyone because I believe the old saying "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar" but sometimes I am sarcastic. Still a work in progress, still learning & growing. I respect your honesty. Peace to you & blessings as you continue your search for the truth.

Thank you, and certainly it is always my intention to treat all persons with the respect they deserve.
However, I don't really know why you would think it is a Christians responsibility to defend the faith? God and His plan will remain and continue regardless of what you or I have to say about it. This life is about choice. God wants everybody to make one, and you have to sail your own ship. If someone is adamently against God, the last thing I will do is sit here begging and pleading a case for God - God doesn't require that of me.
If someone has made their choice, and simply refuses to listen, then so be it. Christ told the apostles, if someone won't receive you, shake the dust off your shoes and leave.
All I can do is tell the truth of what Gods Word says. Hopefully, from that a seed will grow in the person who hears it. But I have no ability within myself to cause it to grow - and sitting here thrashing it out isn't gonna change that - only God can cause the seed to grow - and it may not be time for that person, God knows, I don't.
Sorry for being so wordy - anyway, have a great day.

It's a free country and many of us who do believe have struggled with our own doubts and demons. Most people who believe in God don't really know why, they just do. I wonder how much of their church history they actually know about. Simply put, the bible is not a verbatim account of what Jesus said. Early christians were expecting him to come right back and it wasn't until the 2nd genereation christians, 70 years after christ died, that they thought to write some of jesus' teachings down for future generations. Even then it has been translated and interpreted so much that the spirit of the bible may be what Jesus had in mind, but it sure isn't "EXACTLY" what he said.

I hope I never fall into the group that is unkind to a person asking an honest question. I try not to but struggle with human pride from time to time so I'm sorry if I ever said anything that would make you judge Christ. Please remember that all of us christians are poor examples, a dirty mirror of what the real Christ is. You may judge me as you like, but please don't think that anything any christian says affects the true nature of Christ. Christ did not take on the penalty for all sins, including my pride to turn people away from Him. It is always God's mercy and love that draws people to Him, never His condemnation. Who would want to go to a God that condemned us when we approach. God loves you and me and I imagine He rolls His eyes in frustration at the many stupid things I do. I know though, that He is still God and still loves me.

And your question was...?
*Of course* people will lie, cheat, steal, murder, whatever...to defend their "faith." 'Cause it's not really faith, it's their "way of life." Humans have done anything and everything to defend their "way of life" ever since there have been humans. Belief in a magical sky-fairy and a magical mystery book isn't going to change human nature. Some people will go to any lengths to fight the enemies of their particular way of life -- even if that way of life's main philosophy is supposed to be peace and love. Not all will, of course...but enough to make you wonder what the point of all the peace & love talk is!
:)

once you're the kind of Muslim, Christian or Jew who sees the scriptures because the unalterable understand God, then obviously none of them in high-quality condition with feminism. notwithstanding, branches of those religions have understood the essence of the non secular custom and seen something as of the time in which it replaced into written. operating example, British Reform Judaism is dedicated to feminism and has spent a great deal of attempt and time in updating the prayer e book to dodge sexist language, has inspired women as rabbis, etc.

The ignorance require to adhere to it. Science teaches us a lot of things, but the faithful insist that something a few thousand years old has to be right. Their faith hasn't kept up with the evidence.
Given the choice of being an uneducated fool or an atheist, I choose atheism.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
This is the essence of our Beliefs. I am sorry for any "Christian" that has been rude to you.
I would like to address an "Atheist" -- do you know what a real Atheist is? look up the word before you tie your life to it.

My respects - I agree completely. There are some Christians here who manage to behave themselves, and I try my best to thank them for their good behavior. But they're drowned out in a sea of angry, whiny, childish and dishonest Christians who most certainly are doing their religion no good.
