Only in the event of a pregnancy (not saying they should get knocked up to be married) But if they are already having a child together they may as well- they already share a lifelong commitment.

Not so long ago, this was a very common age to be married. Teens are condemned for having sex, when their bodies mature 10 years before they are considered "old enough" by societies standards to be married. (in their 20's)

In current American society, people are getting married later and later. It's just what has become acceptable. I think for most people, big decisions are better left for when you're a little older and have had a chance to live on your own terms.

Being younger doesn't necessarily mean the marriage will fail though. Look at all of us who waited until much later, and are still divorced.

Edited to add I would expect 16 to be more reasonable by far than 13.

13-16 is much too young, they dont even know who they are or what they want. they are too immature. However I dont think there is an age limit, people are ready at different times and they will just know when its right. I got married at 20 and been happily married ever since with baby #1 on the way. Hope this helps.

I don't think that they should be allow to get married. First off they are not even allow to work yet. How are they going to support each other. Second, they are children them self. I know for a fact that teens these days falls in love head over heels, all crazy for one another, however i think that whatever they think is right is actually a regret for them in a few months when they no longer have those feelings for one another.

16 year olds may marry with parents consent and in some states if a pregnancy is involved so anyone 16+ is not even an issue as they can marry. Under 16 no they should not marry.

No, sorry, they are not considered an adult at this age, and are under parents consent. Not only that, they are still developing! My younger brother didn't hit his growth spurt until he was 16... and I really honestly don't remember too much from when I was 13 yrs old, you are still growing then. And 13 is WAY too young to be married/having kids-especially if your body hasn't developed.

In my country 14 year old women get married to 20 something year old men but that's because Islam teaches us that. Perfectly legal and acceptable. So yes I think the 13-15 year old girls need to get married to men who can provide and take care of them. As for the boys they should stay in school in order to get a house and a job. Islam teaches that when a girl has her first period she is an adult and can therefore get married and have children. Same with boys as soon as they go through puberty they are adults as well.

Marriage is a lot of work, responsibility, compromise. It's too much for 13 year olds. Especially the ones that grow up in the US. And not to even mention children that could come out of the marriage.

No. They lack the maturity needed for this life-altering decision. The consequences of a poor marriage partner choice would be more than a teen could or should have to handle.

hi,
no!
there are so many reasons to say no, there are so many reasons to say yes, and i am more than sure that someone somewhere will have what they think is the prefect reson to prove me wrong. brfore passing judgment try to understand what i am talking about.
at the age of 13 a child is just begining to know his or her own body. just begining to understant what makes him or her who they are. at 13 you are realizing that you have the equipment that can make you a man or woman. you don't know what to do with it. you are not yet out of school and you want to test drive your equipment, thats kind of crazy, its like getting behind the wheel of a car without knowing how to drive. why ? getting marred at that age it like driving into a brick wall. you don't know what to do or what you are doing. at the age of 16 you may or may not have a little experance but not enough. if you are a boy you may think that you know all you need to know about women and as a girl you may think the same thing but neather of you know as much as you think. you have not learn about life so how could you know about marrage. life is hard enough as a young adult who is just begining ther lives so why burden yourself with a wife or housband. remember you don't want to clean your own room a 13or 16 so why would you want to get marred and have two people to clean behind. stay a teen for as long as you can being an adult " ANT" what you think it is to much work, to to to to to much work.

No, because they are unable to make educated decisions about the future of their life at that age. I don't think anyone from 0 to 25 should be allowed to get married.
