Itching, inflammation and thick white discharge. You can get a pessary - Canestane from the chemist will clear it up overnight plus a cream for external use if required.

Itchiness, redness, soreness, inflammation aroundand inside the vagina. Its really uncomfortable, sometimes a white 'cottage cheese'like discharge.
You can get loads of over the counter treatment, clotrimazole (canesten) cream and pessaries, diflucan oral capsules (my personal treatment of choice).
Also you can apply natural (plain) yoghurt to the area or soaka tampon in it and insert as usual.
Its caused by a fungal infection called candida albicans and is caused by a multitude of different things. Sometimes caused by anti biotics destroying the good bacteria in the vagina, sometimes just by the time of the month and the flora in the area changing naturally, can be sexually transmitted so if you do haev a partner make sure he gets treated too or else you'll jsut pass it between the two of you!
ps I would ignore the answer recommending you get an HIV test straightaway! its a very common infection and easily treatable and usually just a sign of changed flora in the area for whatever reason.
Good luck

external thrush is itchy and sore, internal thrush causes abnormal discharge. The pessary and cream duo (canesten) work really well. It isn't a big issue, just an imbalance of chemicals. Wash regularly without soap just water, wear cotton undies and don't use bubble bath.

The symptoms are usually itching and sometimes sore when peeing and a discharge that sometimes look likes cottage cheese but doesn't neccesarally smell. The most natural way to help get rid of it is to use Natural yoghurt.Sounds yuk but works. And i dont mean eat it.You can buy pills and creams over the counter but these can be expensive.

White wet papery substance on your underneath. Itchy & sore. Canisten helps ease it, cranberry juice also. Try not to scratch as it can worsen it. Place ice on it if possible.Helps the itching. xxx
