I paid the $52 the beginning of 2006, but I don't know if, when you pay it, its for the upcoming or previous year of work. Any feedback would be great!

Yes, if you worked during 2006 - and if you hadn't, they couldn't have taken it out. There used to be a minimum you had to make - something like $1000 in a year - before you were liable for the occupational tax. I don't know if it's the case any more, but if you made less than that, you might look into it. If you make over $1000, then you're stuck for it.

It's for the current calendar year. So what you paid in 2006 was FOR 2006. A lot of places take it out in quarterly installments, so if you didn't work the whole year, you might not end up paying the whole $52.00. But if you did, I doubt that you can get a refund.
