i don't know why they wouldn't believe you unless you were caught in a lie in the past. Not really much you can do.

The best course of action is to stick to your guns and wait till they come to their senses. In the meantime if you can gather any solid proof that you are telling the truth that would be a big help. If you can get the proof to back you up, then give them each a fork and tell them to start eating crow! Your relationship with these people will never be the same even if they apologize and you forgive them unfortunately. There will always be the little nagging voice reminding you that they didn't trust you and that hurt can take awhile to heal. If it is someone near and dear to you, you can use it a positive tool to grow a new and better relationship from. It will be tough, but it can work. But if you are telling the truth, don't back down or waiver just to make them happy. That would be wrong.

People always think I'm being sarcastic when I'm not - and then I say I'm not being sarcastic and that sounds even more sarcastic - gets into a bit of a problem!!! Guess you just need to give up and let them think what they want - they'll forget about it soon and you know you're telling the truth - that's what counts :)

If someone doesn't believe me i usually say 'fair enough but that's the truth'. If they don't believe you so what? Unless you're accused of murder or something like that in which case i'd set about getting some evidence or a one way ticket to Rio!

Politely provide independant evidence. A web link is prety good.

If that doesn't work for your case, ask them "why would I lie?"

State the facts clearly without getting flustered, answer any questions to the best of your knowledge then walk away. Its not your problem if they don't believe you - its theirs!

Do they have a reason not to trust you? If so, you will fight a losing battle.
