I Have a 7 week old boxer, yest he fell off a chair and banged his jaw on our tiled floor. I fell over ,hanging drunk, on same floor xmas eve and bashed my chin.......I cried like a *****.....he yelped and went to sleep..so my question is can or do dogs cry?

No, animals don't cry. The lacrimal fluid they secrete in their eyes serves specific functions (ie: cleaning out the eye, lubrication, etc).

Animals will secrete extra fluid when sick - sort of like the body flushing out all the holes - but it's not tears. Um, and rats don't cry either.

I have had 4 dogs and i have never seen tears in there eyes they just whimper when they cry but they do have feelings just like us humans

I don't know about dogs. But whoever said animals can't cry doesn't know what they're talking about. I used to have a pet rat, and for a few days he had red liquid around his eyes. We took him to the vet and found out that rat's tears are red and that he was upset and crying because he had a broken tooth.

Oh, I've got a boxer! They are soooooo cute:)The best thing that has ever happened to me, definitely, was buying my boxer pup!
Anyway, I think I have seen my poor doggy cry, I do not know, maybe it was just my imagination........

No dogs can't cry,
they have a moisture in their eyes ,but no tears

o yeah once i took my dog to hes doctor he had some opration and he was just 4 months at that time and he had pain i easily could see tears fallin down that was the saddest moment of my life cos i couldn't stand my lil baby is cryin

my dog does when he is sulking. I tell him hes not allowed to chase the cat and he goes in to a sulk and starts bawling his eyes out

i don't think they can. well, i have never seen a dog cry so i'm guessing no. they just wimper.
