Think *DOGGEREL*
When she is trying to talk to you~~~~~~
Carefully repeat her words
Try to get the dialect correct
with love and patience,
you will soon be able to communicate perfectly
Good luck

There are a couple of books about which help you to understand your dog's body language, facial expressions and the various barks and growls.

One is called 'How to Speak Dog' and is by Stanley Coren.

Another good one is by a Scandinavian woman called Turid Rugaas. I don't know the title but it is something like Understanding your Dog's Body Language. A search under her name will probably find it on Amazon.

Another book is 'Dogs are from Neptune' by Jean Donaldson.

I can't recommend anything that will help you speak 'Rotty' but the books I've mentioned are just a few of the hundreds of dog behaviour books that are available to help us understand the canine mind a bit more.

The more we understand why dogs do what they do, the better the relationship between dog and owner.

This is the difference between a pet owner and a dog owner. There is no language you need to learn, you just need to stop your own input in there. Your dog is always communicating with you, in body language. All you need to do is just sit there and observe her for hours at a time. It can be boring if that type of thing does not interest you, but it is also very rewarding. I have done it for years and can tell you with a glance what my dog is thinking about and what he will do next. I can read his body language like a book. It is also something of a requirement in our line of work. My dog is a detection dog and he detects an odor for which he is trained, his body language changes, his breathing changes, his tail changes position etc. These are all things that you need to be able to read with your dog. Just sit back and observe her during all hours of the day, she is talking in volumes, you just need to HEAR.

With a good training class and trainer, you can learn to understand your dog and how to communicate with your dog in a way she will understand. You won't "talk rotty" but you certainly can help yourself by understanding a dog's behavior and why they do some things.

Im not sure what your asking but if she/he comes up to you with concerned eyes, something is troubling and you should look around. If she/he has its head bent down and rarely looking into your eyes, then she/he has done something that they know your not going to be happy with. If you could specify a certain look, I could describe more clearly, but based on the circimstances, I am unable to help you any further.
