Does it really matter?
If it does matter, it would be important to know the real reason for an illegal alien to volunteer. If that "real reason" is non-threatening to the Army itself, then I don't feel it matters.
What if the illegal alien earns a medal of honor? Dies in action while saving a comrade in action?

flashrtp's answer is excellent. If an an illegal alien volunteers for the Armed Forces he/she is sworn to protect and defend the United States;that is a noble action. When they are sent to a combat zone they risks their very lives. Many have paid the supreme sacrifice.More children of our elites and politicians should be involved in the protection of our country.Pat Tillman was an example. He had it all but volunteered and gave it all.Very few of the children of our elected representatives are serving in our Armed Forces.Thank the aliens who protect and defend.

There are legal aliens in the US military, but no illegal aliens. I seem to recall that there are about 30,000 aliens in the US armed forces (I think the total US armed forces is a bit above 1,000,000)

None. There are immigrants who have applied legally for citizenship and have joined the army to speed up the process. Our government has offered those legally seeking citizenship, the opportunity to have their requests processed faster if they will join our armed forces. They are NOT those illegal immigrants who have criminally entered our country without documents and have not even APPLIED for citizenship.

none. Illegal would mean undocumented and they are certainly no undocumented anything in the army. The Military in spite of the moron kerry is made up of a volunteer force that has to meet requirements to enter. Kerry is 40 years out of touch and it woefully shows.
