Yes girls potty train really fast she will potty train in one day. So don't stress right now you have time. Most kids do it when their ready too. Just give her a few more months and then try again. Once they start doing it. it will be fast.

I hear your frustration! Both of my boys were almost 4 by the time they finally cooperated with the potty. I found that once I just said fine, let me know when you are ready, it didn't take long. I highly doubt she will go to school not trained. I would just remind her that school is coming and she may want to think about using the potty and drop it after that for awhile. They can be so stubborn, especially those really smart ones! We did all the reward programs...you name it we did it. In the end it was all up to when they decided OK, I'm ready. My girls weren't easy either, they were about 3 when they finally decided it was time. But once they make that choice they are very good about it. She already has a tough part of it out of the way, she knows when she has to go. The rest will come when she is ready. Stop ripping your hair out and just back off for now, you will all be happier. She will be changing and growing alot over the summer, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Take care!

You are not alone. My sitter's youngest is 3 and just started actually wanting to do it. She had been encouraging it for some time, and her daughter was just not interested. She knew the same thing, not to force it, and all of a sudden they are working together at the potty training now! So yes, it will happen eventually, even though it may be later than sooner.

i am having the same problem she knows what the potty is for but she will only use it once. i have read that putting them on the potty with a book/toy at the same time every day for ten minutes will help. if you know roughly what time of day she does a number two put her on the potty then and praise her if she does something and dont look dissapionted if nothing has happened. it is suppose to help them understand its better to go in the potty than have a dirty bum and encourage them to see that its better to go on the potty. i hope i have helped you

My son is 2 and is potty trained. The way he ended up learning is his dad grabbed the belt and told him that from now on he needed to poo in the potty because if he didn't daddy was going to spank him with the belt, it broke my heart but ever since that day he goes to the potty all by himself :-). I guess showing him the belt worked :-)

my son was the same way so i made a game out of going to the potty. I hung a poster board in the bath room in front of his potty. I took him to the store and let him pick out stickers. each time he went on the potty he got a sticker to put on the board. one sticker for pee and two for poo. he loved adding stickers to the board and seeing all that he has accomplished. he wanted to go to the bath room every five minutes.
i also had a friend who put a candy dish next to the potty and gave her daughter m&m's for going potty.

hope i could help. good luck!!

Her interest may be sparked by being uncomfortable. Buy some training panties (thick cotton - walmart) and let her spend a few days in them. Pull ups are too much like diapers. Your daughter is smart- why go through the trouble when she can just have you change her? Give her a couple of days in panties and ceremoniously toss the diapers. It will work.

We had this problem with my son. The doctor told us to tell him that he could poop on newspaper in the bathroom or in the toilet. the difference being that he would have to clean it up himself from the newspaper. Unfortunately, he chose the newspaper and would not change.

This went on for about a month. We then took that option away, and he refused to go. He would go a week without pooping, and then have an explosion.

I hope your daughter isn't as stubborn as my son.

BTW, he does fine now at 15. ;-)

my son is nearly 4 and I still cannot get him to continually use it no matter how hard I try and I have potty trained hundreds of toddlers/children because of my job - but everything I have tried with him, doesnt work!!!

one person gave me a bit of advice - dont rush it, they wont still be in nappies when they are 15!!!!! lol

She will be ready by the time she goes to pre-school. Let HER decide to be a 'big girl.' It works. Don't force her, it will cause problems later. Good luck! Just teach her the 'right' way to wipe, to stop later infections. Again, good luck!
