Drinking 8 glasses of water a day will help. If the lemon helps you drink more water, then go for it! Hot tea is great... green tea especially, since there are few (if any) calories.

Replacing high calorie pop with water is a great start to losing weight. If you drink about 3 cans of pop a day, replacing it with water (with or without lemon) can help you lose a pound in a week (420 calories for 36 ounces over 7 days is about 3,000 caloires - 3,500 calories is a pound). If you are talking about that lemonade cleanse thing - don't do it - that's not a healthy way to lose weight, and you are going to develop some serious body odor.

I have not tried that, but if it does work, I would be willing. I have however been drinking a lot of hot green tea & reg tea...and that seems to be working along w/ my eating habits, etc.

I just read the 'cleansing' response below and come to think of it, a woman I work with did a 'detox' thing where she drank some crazy mixture of water, lemon juice and maple syrup (sounds nasty but I kid you not!!)...she dropped weight like there was no tomorrow!

Drinking lemon juice in warm/hot water 1/2 hour before you eat in the morning will balance out the PH level of your body as it is an alkaline food and rid the bowel of extra mucous, which is inflammatory to the system..................Basically, it will greatly aide digestion and ensure efficient elimination of waste products and reduce gastric upsets/bloating.........:) Cheers

You're better off drinking home-brewed tea -- green tea or black pekoe tea are best, and if you can't stand the taste add a little Splenda and/or skim milk. Not only is tea high in antioxidants, but it also has something else (can't remember what it's called but it begins with a "c" and it's not caffeine) that aids weight loss.
