I have always asked people i liked and was getting to know if they were a cat or a dog person... cat people are more independent and dog people tend to be more dependent. I perosnally like them both. I own both. My dog is very loyal, obedient and trustworthy, my cat leaves me alone until i want her, usually in the evening when we sit down and relax, even then she just makes her presence known. Dogs also resemble the smoothing type where cats are do their own thing.
Dogs are known gaurdians over master and masters property, where cleopatra used cats in her temples to ward off evil spirits. I am highly partial to my cat and shes been around longer than my dog, but i love them both. My dog because shes very nuturing and is completely for my kids, like a second mom...its cute.
Not to mention theres more responsibility with a dog, cats are easier to take care of.

Cats and dogs really aren't so different, besides some obvious differences (walks vs. litterboxes, barks vs. meows, and so on). I have owned cats and dogs all my life, and they are equally affectionate and energetic, although personality will naturally vary from individual to individual.
Dogs, especially large dogs, are more expensive because they eat more and have higher vet bills. They are also higher maintanence, in that they need more attention from their owners and can't be left alone for long periods of time without becoming noisy and destructive. I really believe dogs are better for more experienced pet owners and for owners who have a lot of time on their hands. If you're new to pets or if no one is home for a large part of the day, the cat is the ideal choice.

Cats have always been my favorite pet. I have had both. Dogs require to much maintenance, (walking them, picking up poop, giving baths) I much prefer a cat who will gladly do these things themselves, except picking up pooop but at least they bury it. Also they are much more cuddly, not that I would want to cuddle a dog anyway, cause they always smell bad even after getting a bath.
I even have one cat that protected me from a dog that attacked me as I was getting into my car one day. He came out of no where and jumped on this big dog. The dog forgot all about me, after he recovered from the shock of my cat jumping him, he took off running!
Cats are best

Love them both for different reasons. Cats are great for cuddling, when they are in the mood and you can always count on a warm lap. Dogs for playing and rough housing, can't do much of that with a cat. But I don' t think I could pick one over the other, gotta have both!

Have you ever heard this one? Dogs have owners; Cats have staff. LOL
I used to be a dog person and despised cats. I now have a cat who I love.
If you want a pet who will be loyal and always agree with you, you need a dog.
If you want a pet who will never admit he needs you, comes & goes as it pleases and gets embarrassed, you're a cat person.
To me, I'm still a dog person at heart, but there's a great feeling of satisfaction when a cat "chooses" to spend time with you.

I have had both and I love dogs the most. Cats are affectionate but only when they want to be. Dogs are always happy to see you. You can walk them and play fetch. Ever tried that with a cat?
Shout out to my puppy Boo Boo.

I like both but I own a dog. I have all boys in my home so I got a girl dog. I treat her like the daughter I don't have. She knows when it is time to go to work and when it is time to go for a W A L K. ( I have to spell it because she knows what that means. LOL
