I understand it is a chronic condition of the skin where the cells reproduce a at faster rate associated to an unbalanced inmmune system. (postulated). No definite cure exist. However I have read about alternative medicene anything fron Aloe to banana peels, herbs and teas. Has anyone know of any case of treating this condition with Aloe? What about hydrotherapy or light therapy? Have a 10 y/o relative suffering this condition and it is heart breaking.

I've tried many things over many years. Never tried aloe. Did try UV light therapy, and found minimal improvement. But there have been some recent breakthroughs in treatment. Some of the newer drugs work wonders. I am currently using Humira. Requires an injection every two weeks. It's self-administered - lot like insulin for a diabetic. Mine has shrunk from 30 - 35% coverage to one dime-sized lesion.

There are others out that also seem to work - remecade is one, but it requires a controlled infusion and has potential liver damage. Talk to a dermatologist.

Humira and Enbrel are both injections for psoriasis and the psoriatic arthritis associated with it. May want to see a rheumatologist, especially if he/she is experiencing any arthritic symptoms with the psoriasis.
