Cats arent exactly humans after all and some dont have that sense of dont bite the hand that feeds you. For example my mom said that no matter how much my grandfather nurtured and loved a cat they once had he still pissed into my grandpa's shoes every other day for no reason.

Okay if I get this straight, your purse is on the ground and she was lying near it. This sounds like you scared her. She might have been startled and did a reactionary move to the threat. If she ran off then it certainly sounds like you scared her. A few days ago I was working with a deaf cat and startled it the same way and the first reaction the cat did was to reach out with teeth showing to bite because she did not hear me. Sounds like a classic case to me. Just try to remember this next time :)

She probably doesn't like you to leave her. My cat will lay on my car keys, so I can't find them. Sometimes when I move her to look for them, she will grab my arm and bite me, but gently not to the point of hurting me. She also has laid on my purse and glasses, I don't know how she knows these items will keep me from leaving the house but she must. Your cat probably knows you are leaving, cause most likely you always take your purse with you. Maybe she is jealous of your purse? cats do some crazy things, but only your cat knows for sure why.

I'm so sorry that happened to you, but try not to take it personally, remember she's only an animal. Sometimes they just have moods like humans, and some cats are more bitey than others. I have one that is easily annoyed and he does tend to nip, the
other one would never bite anyone. It could be that when you reached down to get your purse, she somehow thought you were reaching for her or getting in her face. Cats like their personal space. If it happens again, I would check with the vet, but I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Nothing to worry. I guess he was lying under the bed, and you interfered with her safty. So when you put your hand down to get your purse, she felt kind of threatened. I do not think it's anything seriousl But otherwise, i had a young kidden, and she /he thought every time I put myhand down, it's play time. So it will not last forever.

Just some cat instinct coming out. She may have thought you were coming into her territory so she lashed out.
My kitty is crazy, if I talk down to him and he thinks I am insulting or making fun of him he attacks my face.
She didn't mean to bite you, that is more than likely why she ran away, she felt bad.

She was probably feeling frisky and thought that you were going to grab her.
My cat will do that to me if I annoy him by teasing him.
Cats love to fight... and any excuse is a good excuse.
