I found a fantastic doggy daycare for my dog. they are knowledgeable, offer training and keep a really nice clean facility. i feel completely safe leaving my dog there. he goes two days a week and gets to spend his day playing with lots of dogs. he comes home exhausted and happy. on his daycare mornings, he practically drags me to the car when it's time to go! his confidence has grown immensely since he's been going. he used to get very upset if i left his sight while he was out in the yard. now i can watch him from inside while he does his business and he doesn't get worried at all (and i don't have to freeze haha). they even have a webcam so i can watch him from my desk! i would suggest researching facilities near you. a good one will let you tour the whole place at any time before leaving your pup. make sure you feel good about the staff. they should do an "interview" with your dog and a trial day to make sure he will be a good fit with the pack. doggy daycare has changed my dogs life (and mine) for the better! plus, the piece of mind that comes with knowing your dog is having a blast all day while you are at work is priceless!

Dogs are social animals and it's best not to leave them alone all day in any circumstances. In fact they should not really be left alone for any more than 4 hours at a time. Doggy day care can be expensive, but ask at your vets and look in the Yellow Pages and you will find a number of people. You could even advertise for help and interview people (and get references!) If you find someone you like, and even more important, your dog likes, it will be such a relief to know you have someone to turn too when you have to go out for a day, or will stop you feeling bad leaving. Perhaps you could condsider a dog walker as an alternative? They could come in half way through the day and take your dog out for 2 hours with other dogs?

I used to send my Black Lab puppy to one when I worked full time, I think they are great ideas. Dogs are really social animals, and if they have been socialized well (with other dogs and people),you shouldn't have any problems there. That being said, you have to do your research. A lot of doggy daycares aren't run legally, and they aren't very sanitary. I was luck to have found the one I sent Zeus to, it was fabulous. There are a few around where I live (Southern Ontario) that are great. Just check it out thoroughly and take your dog for a couple visits (with YOU there), and then slowly start leaving your dog for longer periods of time. This also gives you a chance to check out how the employees there interact with your dog.
Overall, I think they are great ideas, and are definately worth the money you pay if you're that into your dog (now I worry more about kid daycare! lol)

Yes! I left my dog at one over the last Thanksgiving and he came back smelly, disgusting and looked like he had been scratched up from other dogs. I'm sure there are good doggie day cares out there but be sure to ask LOTS of questions and get a tour of everywhere on the property of where your dog will be during his/her stay.

I take both of mine at least one day a week. Before taking them, I went in and checked the place out. I would never leave my dog with a place that you can't check out first. Also, make sure you find one with web cams. That way you can check on your dog while at work.

It really helped to socialize my dogs when they were young and they have a great time and are exhausted when they get home from playing all day.

It's a great idea!!

right here in the states puppy day cares are beginning up throughout some are very severe and some are very sensible relying on the position you bypass and what they offer, There also are people doing it out of their own houses. What each and each one in all them call for is on your dogs to have their kennel cough images earlier they could stay at their facility. The corporation day cares have a kennel some what like you would locate in a glance after for undesirable dogs with a puppy door going outdoors of their own fenced in section, some businesses provide play and walks for an additional suitable cost and some have a series cost. the folk who run them out of their own houses always have a fenced backyard and provide a series cost. the businesses that I truly have referred to as do ask what form of dogs you've or what percentage so i instantly assumed they bypass by using length to make their cost. additionally they charged i trust it grow to be 11 money an afternoon and prefer 6 money for each further dogs , yet I truly have smaller dogs, im certain higher dogs were more suitable. i imagine that grow to be the most inexpensive i modern-day in my city. They did have nutrition accessible there yet you are able to deliver your human being nutrition in. Now that one they do no longer take the dogs out and workout them. They do provide longer continues to be jointly with in weeks for persons going on vacation or pastime appropriate causes. None of them provided %. up and drop offs and that i imagine that is a sensible decision. the businesses actually have vets reachable or on call. As for the abode corporation people they reported no longer some thing about having a vet reachable or on call. As for the hours the businesses do have set hours i trust it grow to be both 6am to 7pm or 8am to 6pm? won't be able to truly undergo in concepts. and if the dogs were to stay previous the set time they'd be charged a a million/2 day cost. i wish this helped some? good success!

UGH!!! Not MY dogs, ever!!!

I helped set up a couple of them and they were both staffed by clueless people. They had no idea how to read dog behavior and enacted policies that are dangerous for dogs and employees as well.

I am sure there must be SOME good ones, I just have never seen them.

Most daycares, like dog parks, are just accidents waiting to happen.

HI,
they have dog sitters that come to your house is what I prefer they will walk your dog when you are not home. I have seen some day cares that aren't sanitary enough for me.
