I had long hair until about 3 weeks ago and I now have it short (just below my ears ) I really like it - you can still be feminine with short hair

When I was little I had long hair but my mum (who's always had short hair) didn't know how to brush it properly without hurting me. I battled with my parents when I was 6 years old and finally I won the battle and they took me to the hairdressers' to have it cut short. Then up until I was about 12 I always had short hair. Then I wanted to grow my hair again, just for a change...
Now I'm 30 and my hair is down to my bum. I couldn't live without it, it is now a part of my body just like my arm. I'd feel horrible without it and I'd rather not have chemotherapy than lose my hair if I, God forbid, ever got cancer. It turned out that I'm meant to have long hair and with the right care (i.e. brushing it using a proper technique to avoid pain) it is barely noticeable for me, however, if it was gone I would do nothing all day but notice that it is not there. I guess when I'm an older lady I would have to wear it in a bun or something.

A. and C.
I have tried short hair and absolutely hate the look on me. Long hair is just so feminine and sexy, you are also able to do more with it in terms of styles.
I hate it when women over 40 get their hair cut, I'm guessing most only do it because they've damaged it so much from dyeing the grays.

I had a short hair cut once -from the back I looked like a boy! :(

I had really long hair til I was about 7 and my parents used to make me have it short then.
In my early teens I had a horrendous short hair cut, but later on in my teenage years I was experimenting with my hair all the time and it was pretty short.
Im 24 now and the last few years Ive been growing it and I prefer having it long like this, although recently Ive felt like I want something a bit more grown up. But I think I'll keep it this length, and I think its because I was made to have it cut as a kid.

A and C. I was allowed to have long hair in school but I had to tie it up. I notice that more women are having long hair and I like the feel of long hair. I don't look good with short hair and it's not too feminine. I think young women should keep their hair long while they are young because they look good. When they are old and wrinkled, having long hair won't look good, so have long hair while you still have the youth. Don't go for short styles, you'll regret it.

Closest answer to me is C

I find both LONG and SHORT hair nice on me. I've tried short hair before, and i got good comments... but for some reason, it breaks my heart to cut it.

Till a week ago, my hair was long and beautiful (reaches just above my belly-button when I bring it to the frong)...

We had a wedding in the family, so I decided to cut the edges to layers... now, everyone is saying how young and fresh it makes me look... but the hair specialist cut a little bit more than i wanted, and now i am upset...

i have no doubt it looks good, but there is a relationship between most girls and their hair... when it's gone it upsets them even if they look good...

at least the girls i know... and ask for a logical reason, i don't know why

MY MOM tells me not to wear my hair short. WHY? She says elder women look younger with short hair, so i should wear it short when I grow older... and enjoy it's length now...

I get bored easily of hair cuts so I tend to change it quite often. I have it cut really short and then after a few months I tend to start growing it again. The main reason tends to be the ease factor. At least when it's long it can easily be tied back from the face and doesn't take hours to do in the morning.

A! I have very thick curly hair and the shorter I cut it the wider it goes, so I keep it nice and long and it looks much better. Seriously, no one could think I looked nice with a shoulder length triangle of hair that went out past my shoulders.

I want long hair, I am in the process of growing it! I have been very experimental with my hair, from very short to dreadlocks, all of which looked good. I know it sounds a little crazy but I am growing my hair for now how I want it for when i get married, i want long girly curls, I dont have a boyf or any prospects but I have a plan!

I had long hair up to about 18 then it gradually got shorter and shorter until one day I had a pixie cut (about 1 inch all over & spikey). Since then I've been growing it and it's pretty long again. I like both long & short but yeah, long hair does feel more feminine.
