ikea, or like someone else said, thrift/goodwill stores. If you tell them what you are looking for, they may even be willing to call you when something comes in. Also, try advertising in the wanted section of a freebie paper.

I have found the best pieces in thrift stores.
Also in second hand furniture stores.
