It helps a little, but it won't just melt fat off. You have to combine it with diet and/or exercise. With 5 cups or so of green tea daily, it only burns about 70 extra calories or less... so about .1 lb more on a weekly average with a good diet.

I started drinking 1 to 2 cups of green tea a day since 1/1/07 (along with changing my eating habits) and i have lost 3 pounds so far...I don't know if it's the tea helping but it could be. Plus drinking tea is just good in general. It has a ton of anti-oxidants which are GREAT for the body.

Supposedly, green tea has high antioxidant levels, boosts energy, and helps burn more calories...but this is not proven fact. It is undoubtedly a healthy alternative to sucking down sports drinks or just plain water while dieting, but the long-term effects of green tea on the diet have never been charted (as far as I know).

Drink it anyway, it's good for you. :)

it helps, as it helps evacuate part of the extra water found in your cells, therefore u urinate more.. and feel ligheter..
but its just not gonna actaully make u loose weight, because your body always requires a certain amount of water.. so getting rid of it, would make u drink more water in the end
