Build a home for my sponosored child in Guatemala. She lives in a metal shack with a dirt floor, and no plumbing.
I wouldn't buy anything for myself and my family. We don't need anything.

Honestly, looking at my life and all the things I don't have and would like to have, all the bills, the vacation I would like to take and the bills I could pay..... But, I also have eyes and a heart that are open. My husband and I are currently living in an apartment and the people across the hall struggle to make the rent monthly. There is a notice on there door now. So with $1000. I would go to the office and pay their rent for them, I know he has lost his job and she works all the time and their son is in Iraq and his child lives with them.... The saying is there is always someone in a worse situation is true and Pay It Forward should be a concept outside of Oprah and a movie it should be a Movement that opens the eyes of all to the needs of others.

It's probably not very likely, but nevertheless, it's a good question. My husband and I have started a Parenting and Anger Management through our church. We do not charge, everything comes from our own pocket. We just became a 501(c) 3 and the name of our program is RAPPS..Rural Area Parenting Program Services. Anyway, If I had money as stated every penny would go to RAPPS non profit program for continued education for those less fortunate than ourselves. Thanks for the question, I read the answers and was kind of surprised at some of the answers. Have a Blessed 2007.

i'd use it to pay rent and than with the money i already have put aside for feb's rent ( i still need 350 morewhich i will have ) but i'd than pay two months rent go to the grocery and get my kids the stuff they want but i can never get because we live so tightly and than id pay off some of my bills with the extra money i'd have in feb because i wouldn't have to worry about march if i was able to use 2 and a half of my pay checks i could pay all my bills up current and than the other two for my car payment .it would be amazing to be ahead of the game for once i don't get food stamps or anything because i make 86 dollars more a month gross than your allowed to make so i struggle all the time but i am use to it so ,thats what i'd do get a head of the game for once i work my bum off and i am a single mom so it's a nice day dream some one giving you a 1000.00 for kindness..but alas thats all it will proably be....

If you gave me 1000.00 I would use it to go with what i spend on feeding & clothing my sisters kids and buying the things they need. She has 3 kids ages 8, 12 & 13. Her & hubby work & are always well dressed. they buy things for themselves only. I buy clothes, school clothes & supplies, food, I supply whats needed for their Birthday parties and presents and i supply their christmas gifts. The parents usually go to the goodwill or dollar store and get about 10.00 worth of gifts for each child....so with the money you gave me I would be able to clothe each child a bit nicer than i do right now & buy more groceries.

I would buy a ton of stuff (useful) and give it to the native elders on my reservation...its cold up there and our grandma's and grandpas need to know we LOVE them...I would get blankets linen pots and pans,,and even food in bulk to distribute...our elders like coffee and tobacco (for ceremony purposes)..they need a warm clothes too and shoes...I'd also think of the spring and maybe buy a buffalo and feed the reservation....y'know theres sooo much I would do...

I would love to spend it all on a weekend away with my hubby. But, as we have six adult children (and one or two isn't travelling too well at the moment), I would assist them in some way and then go out, with all my kids, for a movie (loved HAPPY FEET!), dinner and coffee to follow.
No much thought about investing or doing something really worthwhile, was there?!

Actually, I would donate half of it to a charity. A place that I know that was really doing some good and then I would take the other half and pay some bills.

Go to the nearest unemployment office or street and find homeless people and start handing out twenties.
