The French decision not to join the liberation of Irak had nothing to do with what is happening now. Most countries never even thought it would get this bad or keep going this long.
The French didn't want to join for the same reason the Russians were against it. They were buying and selling with Saddam.
It is just as easy as that.
Even during the initial invasion the Russians were giving Saddam intelligence information.
Shortly before the invasion the French were in Bagdad at a trade show, with the Germans and the Russians. The French and the Russians were trying to sell Nuclear power plants there.
The French Government was also afraid of the Saddam's threats against any country that tried to invade.
One should not shoot off a comment like yours, if one is not informed about the subject.

Yes generally the Frenchh have bad luck in wars. They have opted to allow their country to be overrun by people who will eventually gain enough power and leverage to take over. When that happens the French will again beg for someone to come and bail them out but this time maybe the US will decide there is no need to be PC and will stay out of it. This is not an attack on the French population but rather on the Frenc government who would rather appease terrorist than to take them out.

I understand it was not for any moral reason. Both France and Germany had signed multibillion oil deals with Iraq that included the building of pipelines directly into those countires. With Saddam's government overthrown, those deals become null.
Cowardace does not enter into the argument. In any case the Frnch military is a very formidible institution. Like many other militaries, they are more often victims of their civilian leadership.

I understand that France was lining its pockets with cash generated by illegal trade with Iraq and didn't want to endanger the cash flow, sure.
Will you understand why the United States won't come bail you out the next time France is in the process of getting its butt kicked?
And that ************, by the way, will be given to you courtesy of the Muslims that France is so busy molly-coddling. Sooner or later you're gonna be their target, and it's truly gonna SUCK to be you when that happens.

I understand only that the French don't have the backbone to stand up for freedom and that the Islamic presence in France is eating them like an internal cancer that will, if left unchecked create even greater problems within the France you know and apparently love, than it has already. Where in the US do you see street gangs of Muslims looting and setting fire to the city? Yet, in France, where they so diplomatically encounter issues, it is present.

Sure we understand. The French have rolled over and played lapdog to the terrorists, and look what it has gained them -- bombs on the train tracks, riots by the Muslims in the slums, and lots of disrespect from around the world.
You go, Frenchy-boy!

Yeah, he's looking to cut himself a deal after we do the work.
He pocketed plenty during the Food For Oil Program.

France was buying embargoed Iraqi oil illegally through Syria and had contracts with Germany and Russia to build nuclear power plants in Iraq. Money is the reason France was against the invasion, don't pretend it was anything else.

There's nothing new about the French being cowards. They have a long history of running away.
