That was fair judgment on the disobedient...
The flood was due to the evil found in the heart of man - and even then Gods gave mankind 120 yrs from the time Noah began to the time he finish building the are to repent.
Sodom and Gomorrah overwhelmed with perversion that not even angels set by God were save and when Abraham asked for Gods mercy over at least ten righteous none were found.
Jobs family was not killed by God the devil interfered there...

No. Especially if that son supposedly rises from the dead three days later none the worse for wear.

And it does not make up for the atrocities in any way.

Allowing your son to die ,so everyone who will die or was dead can live forever, thats SACRIFICE. Read the bible properly, John 3 :16 is a very small part of the bible and can alos be taken out of context, read Revelation which John also wrote see what you think of that !!!!

I would ask you another question: Do you believe in justice? God's judgments in the Bible are His righteous response against evil in the moral universe that He has created. One first has to acknowledge the need for justice against evil before he can understand the work of Christ's death on the cross.
