As a form of entertainment to help pass the time. It's the same reason some people prefer films with action, horror, terror, thrills, etc. It gets the heart racing, which makes them feel more alive. Why do people like watching bloopers, people accidently hurting themself or making major obvious mistakes? And why do they find them funny? same reason. Entertainment.
Most of the people writing questions and answers are not here to learn, help others or create change, awareness or improvement. They're just here because it's a fun place to be.
