I have got a cheap flight to visit my friend in Brussels but the flight goes into Charleroi airport. I am worried about getting into the city centre and even more worried about getting back in case I miss the flight. Does the bus leave from the same place in the centre of Brussels to go back to the airport and is it easy to find? Any info from anyone who has done it before would be great.

Hi Ian,

I saw you posted your question again at about the same time I answered it, so I'll post my answer again in case you didn't receive it.

There is a shuttle service to the train station Brussels South (or Brussel Zuid or Bruxelles Midi, as we say)
All the info (in english and with pictures and timetables) is right here: http://www.charleroi-airport.com/BSCA/SiteEN.nsf/.GeneralW/D80FA26A28492CA2C1256E270034B2AB?OpenDocument&Key=menu1

You could take a taxi too, but I don't recommend it. It's too far and taxis are quite expensive over here.

I'd suggest you have your friend pick you up at the south station. (It is quite big, and at a 15min walk from the city centre)

There is a bus that leaves the airport , i think every half hr that takes you into the train station in Brussels, drops you right at a taxi rank. On the way back you get the bus at the same place it dropped you off. Fare is about 10 euros each way and you pay the driver. At charleroi come out airportand turn left and all the bus stops are there and easy to find.

Hi,

Not easy at all, It may takes you up to 1h30 by bus from Charleroi to Brussels, you'd better rent a car, A taxi will be quite expensive.

Train is the best - fast, runs often and not expensive.
