I was told that my daughter has harison sulci, searching it on the web throws up sites with lots of jargon...can anyone explain it to me in layman terms?

I checked out the sites and it seems to be a permanent indentation along the ribs. It can be caused by respiratory conditions like asthma or rickets.
I have no idea if it will help but you could try reflexology.
Try ringing up the nhs if you are a Brit but your GP should be able to explain it.

As "tagette" said .. harrison sulcus is a groove in the chest, exactly at the diaphragm attachment with the lower ribs.

This condition occurs if the child had weak bones like in "rickets" that can bend easly, specially if that was associated with chronic cough or respiratory distress with the baby taking deep breath to accomudate the difficulty in breathing in order to provide more O2 to the body.
It can occur in cases of asthma due to the chronic cough, too.
in short... its cuzed by a chronic underlying cuz..

The only problem of harrison sulcus will be the narrow space for the lungs to expand which might cuz shortness of breath and increase the infection rate, of course not all cases will have that, only in sever grooving...
