Find out what the person you are talking to is interested in. Then start a conversation about it. Even if you don't say a whole lot, the person won't think you are quiet, they will think you are a good listener.

Talk about higher math. Nothing like starting a conversation about the uses of Banach space in the resolution of the red shift paradox to get people around you interested.

Talk about school, work, politics (if you are into that stuff), religion, travelling, share jokes, childhood experiences, movies, music, goals, sports, there are a wide variety of things you can talk about. Dig deep..lol

Ask him something about himself. Guys love it when you give them the opportunity to let them talk about themselves. Plus you get to find out more about the person in question.

You can talk about anything.The weather,movies,sports,food,pet's ect.Just be yourself.
