is there a form that i need to wait for in the mail that I will need to have in order to file my taxes with my home included..... naturally , i know about waiting for W2's but is there any other piece of paperwork?

The Form 1098 will list the amount of mortgage interest and real estate taxes you paid, which you will deduct on Schedule A of your tax return. If you don't want to wait for the mail, check your mortgage company's website. Many of them will this information on the "your account" section.

You don't have to mail the 1098 in with your tax return. You just need to have the information to enter on the Schedule A.
