incorrect, you are talking about the abuse of erythropoetin, it increases the red cell prodcution, hypothetically and probably experimentally proven as well, it increases the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood, which in turn increases the muscle output. This is the incentive. There are of course side effects to it too, which athletes take a chance for. We are not discussing the sports ethics here anyways for the abuse of drugs for sports.
