In football practice we call them "updowns."

you usually do "high knees" or a modified run in place, at the sound of a whistle everyone drops to their stomache and jumps up as quickly as possible and resumes their high knees/ running in place.

it's a VERY good workout.

A similar one is the "body biulder"

it's an 8 count exercise used in the miltary (at least the Air Force)

Start standing (either normally or at attention)
1st count is down (almost squatted with hands on the ground)
2nd step is pushup position (kick your legs out)
3rd step is pushup position but jump a little and spread your legs 1-2 feet
4th step is to bring legs back together
5th step is to go down (do the pushup)
6th step is comming back up (finish the pushup)
7th step is bringing legs underneith you (1 movement, quickly)
8th step is back up to standing position (for military in the attention position)
The repeate, the whole exercise should take between 3-4 seconds for as many reps as you want.
