Are you just getting started, or have you been running for a while?

As long as you *ease* into your current routine, anything is pretty good. Your body will let you know if you overdid it. When I started running, I used the Couch to 5K program over at coolrunning.com - the program starts by getting your body used to consistant exercise, then builds intensity through intervals of running and walking.

What time is good? When I run 5Ks, they usually have you line up near your pace. Elite runners will be around 6 minutes per mile or less. Most of the average runners are around 9 to 11 minutes per mile, and the weekend warrior "I haven't run in two months, but I'm running this race anyways" guys are lining up in the 12 minute mile pace pack. Most people will do a 5K (3.1 miles) in 25 to 35 minutes if they don't walk.

Recommended exercise is at least 30 minutes, 3 times a week. Enjoy!

Exercising depends on ur endurance. So long as u r not breathless after running it is ok.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

You should clarify your question a bit more and you may get more answers. But - I am a beginning runner and can run the 5k in 32:00 minutes. That's pretty slow. I'm working on it everyday. Monday I ran for 51 minutes - 4.6 miles.
